THE NON-SURGICAL NOSE JOB
The “15-minute nose job” – Safe, Affordable and Effective
People have been having their noses modified and sculpted for years through nose jobs, nose reshaping, and rhinoplasty. In comparison to perhaps 20 years ago, however, over the last few years a new procedure, called the non-surgical nose job, has risen in popularity, and we can see why. For those who are simply afraid to actually have surgery, it can be quite a relief to hear that there is a safer, affordable and effective option available.
What is rhinoplasty?
The procedure for repairing, changing, reshaping, or reconstructing the nose is known as rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty was generally performed by plastic surgery until the beginning of the century when non-surgical nose jobs were pioneered.
Rhinoplasty is a reconstructive and aesthetic procedure that can be performed to improve nasal function or change the look of the nose. Rhinoplasty can be performed to produce the perfect nose form by removing bumps, adjusting nostril shape and size, slimming down the nasal bridge, and changing the tip shape.
Surgical rhinoplasty recovery can take anywhere from one to six weeks, depending on the operation, with a one to two week period of downtime in between. For about a week, the patient will need to wear a splint, and pain medication may be required. The cartilage and tissue in the nose are regenerating at this time, wounds are healing, and swelling is decreasing. During this period, patients commonly develop ‘periorbital bruising’ or ‘panda eye bruising.’
What Is a Non-Surgical Nose Job?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty, as the name implies, involves no surgery, little or no anaesthesia, and little or no recovery time. This type of rhinoplasty, also known as the “15-minute nose job,” sculpts and shapes the nose using dermal filler. The filler works by smoothing and filling lumps and irregularities in the nose, but the strange thing is that the nose always seems smaller, not just straighter. This procedure, like most of our dermal filler procedures, should take no more than 30 minutes. The outcomes are also immediate!
A variety of irregularities in the nose can be corrected by reshaping, re-balancing, or resizing. Among the nose’s treatment regions are:
- Nasal tips that droop
- On the bridge of the nose, there is a hump or ‘hook.’
- A nose that is asymmetrical or crooked
- Small noses that need to be built up
- Wide noses can be slimmed down.
- More height or tip lift is required for certain noses.
- A low or flat bridge
Dermal fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, whereas surgical rhinoplasty is permanent and difficult to reverse. Repeat treatments can extend this time, or if you’re indecisive about the shape, it will fade naturally over this time. Beauty Aesthetics’ experienced and highly trained aestheticians can also dissolve and reverse the effects upon request.
We will offer you great aftercare instructions, as we do with all of our treatments. Non-surgical nose jobs and dermal fillers, on the other hand, have very little downtime. Slight bruising, redness, and discomfort are extremely typical and will go away in a few days, so take it easy and you should be feeling, and looking great in 72 hours.
